Job Description

Job Summary:
The Field Monitor will play a crucial role within the School Feeding Project under the Food and Cash-Based Transfer (CBT) modality. This position is responsible for overseeing the distribution of Bread and Biscuits to students, ensuring alignment with project goals, standards, and compliance to provide fair and smooth operations. The Field Monitor will be equipped to implement quality control and accountability measures, while also fostering trust within the community.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct daily monitoring of the bread and biscuit distribution process in assigned areas to ensure that it adheres to project guidelines and standards.
• Verify student attendance to ensure accurate distribution and identify any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
• Supervise the distribution of bread and biscuits to ensure that the delivered quantities meet established requirements and that the products meet quality standards.
• Follow up on all cases reported through the Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM) and ensure that issues are addressed in a timely manner.
• Report findings and any concerns regarding the distribution process or student attendance to the ASIO Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer for further action.
• Engage with school staff, students, and community members to promote awareness of the School Feeding Project and ensure transparency within the distribution process.
• Assist in the collection and reporting of data relevant to the monitoring and evaluation of the program, helping to maintain accurate records of the distribution process and outcomes.
• Foster a culture of accountability through direct engagement and oversight to prevent any misuse of resources, thereby strengthening community trust in the program.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or equivalent; further education in Community Development, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in field monitoring, community outreach, or similar roles, preferably within educational or food distribution programs.
• Strong understanding of community dynamics and the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups, including students, parents, and school staff.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to details to ensure compliance with distribution guidelines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and interacting with stakeholders.
• Problem-solving skills to address challenges that arise during the monitoring and distribution processes.
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and be proactive in monitoring activities.
