Job Description

Position Overview:
The District Coordinator plays a vital role in the effective implementation of the School Feeding Program. This position requires strong leadership and coordination skills to manage project staff, liaise with school headmasters and district authorities, and collaborate with Donor’s supply chain team. The District Coordinator will oversee daily operations, ensuring that the distribution of bread and fortified biscuits meets quality standards and is timely and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage project staff, ensuring clear communication of roles and responsibilities.
• Coordinate with school headmasters, district authorities, and the Donor supply chain team to ensure seamless program operations.
• Supervise daily activities related to the School Feeding Program, providing guidance and support to staff as needed.
• Oversee the distribution of bread and fortified biscuits, tracking deliveries to ensure they reach schools on time, in the correct quantity, and meet quality standards.
• Manage the logistics of delivering wheat flour and other baking ingredients to local bakeries, coordinating food offloading and pickup activities.
• Provide regular reports on the distribution and operational progress of the School Feeding Program to the Project Manager and Reporting Officer.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the food distribution processes, making recommendations for improvements.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between various stakeholders to foster a supportive environment for the School Feeding Program.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Public Administration, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in project management, logistics, or supply chain operations, preferably in education or nutrition programs.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide project staff.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with school officials, government authorities, and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and quality control measures related to food distribution.
• Proficiency in data tracking and reporting methods to monitor program effectiveness and impact.
