Job Description

Position Overview:
The Logistic &Transport Officer plays a critical role in the logistics management of the School Feeding Project in Samangan province. This position is responsible for overseeing daily transportation activities for staff and ensuring the timely delivery of Bread and ingredients to local bakeries, as well as delivering Bread and Fortified Biscuits to primary schools, Community-Based Education (CBE) programs, and Accelerated Learning Programs (ALP) across all districts.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate daily transportation schedules for staff and logistics operations to ensure efficient delivery of food items.
• Ensure that Bread and ingredients are delivered to local bakeries on time, maintaining quality and freshness.
• Manage the timely delivery of Bread and Fortified Biscuits to all designated schools, CBEs, and ALPs within the project area.
• Keep thorough inventory records and stock levels using inventory lists to ensure supplies meet the needs of students and educational programs.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including deliveries, stock levels, and transportation schedules.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to address and resolve any logistical challenges that arise.
• Monitor transportation routes and adapt plans as necessary to prevent disruptions to food distribution.
• Implement and adhere to safety and logistical protocols to ensure the integrity of food items during transportation.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics, transport management, or supply chain management, preferably in food distribution or educational projects.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to respond quickly in high-pressure situations.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers, staff, and various stakeholders.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and best practices for food logistics.
